Read for the Gold!

2017 Summer Reading Contest for
District Students & School Staff

What books are you reading this summer?  

You can 'Read for the Gold' to earn awards for your school.  Here’s how:

Who:   All School District of Palm Beach County Students and School Staff

When:  June 3rd - Aug 16th 

What:  Participants will earn points for their school based on reading a book during the contest dates.

How: Read a book this summer and submit your school level Google Form review.

Be creative!  Create a personalized book review using technology to receive a bonus point. (optional)
Examples: video, podcast, presentation (i.e. Prezi, Google Slides, Microsoft Sway (Office 365 in Portal page after login), etc), Book TrailerInfographic, ThingLink, news publication, cartoon (i.e. Powtoons), Adobe Spark, etc.
Note: This does not include online review sites, such as Goodreads and Amazon Book reviews.

Points:   

  • Completed Book Review             = 1 point
  • Technology Link (one per book)  = 1 point (optional)
    • Make sure the link is shared so we can view it.

Gold, Silver and Bronze level schools will be recognized in the fall.
