Volunteer Training


There will be no formal “live” training for returning school Volunteer Coordinators.  It will be done online to meet mandatory yearly training criteria by the Department of Education.  New coordinators or those needing assistance will be helped individually.  If you need training, contact Debi Elfen at Deborah.elfen@palmbeachschools.org or call (561) 434-8789 – PX 48789.

Upcoming Training Events


A workshop incorporating the application process and information for the Five Star Award will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018.  The workshop will be held at the Fulton-Holland Educational Services Center, in Thurber A & B from 8:30 – 11:30 AM.

This training is not mandatory.  It is being offered to help those individuals who are preparing for the first time or for those who have had problems in the past.  All schools are eligible to apply for the award regardless if they currently have the Five Star School designation. After completion of the application and portfolio, those schools which receive a school grade of “C” or higher or a school improvement status of “maintaining or commendable” will be awarded the Five Star School status.
