Course Selection Process for 2024-25 Classes
We have begun the course selection process for next year’s classes. With the extremely large number of students at Park Vista and the size of our counselor caseloads, personal registration meetings are not being offered through our school counseling office. However, we have developed a comprehensive registration plan that provides all of the resources necessary for students and parents to make their selections. School counselors are available through email and by phone to answer any additional questions. If students have any questions, they are welcome to see their counselor before school, during lunch, or after school.
On January 23, 24, and 25, all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students attended an assembly covering all of the details regarding the course selection process. Below are the PowerPoint presentations from those assemblies.
Rising Senior Class of 2025 Course Selection Presentation
Rising Junior Class of 2026 Course Selection Presentation
Rising Sophomore Class of 2027 Course Selection Presentation
Students will be receiving their course selection sheets during period 5 on Friday, February 2. Students will present the course selection sheets to each of their teachers for their recommendations and then take them home to discuss them with their parents and to receive their signatures. The course selection sheets are due back to their period 5 teacher no later than Friday, February 23. At that time, school counselors and data processors will review each student’s sheet and enter the courses in SIS. In April, each student will be given a list with their course requests and will then individually meet with their counselor to finalize their selections for the 2024-2025 school year.
