    All applications must be done online, and no paper application exists. After submitting your application, your application details are accessible by the school or department who advertised the job. They only see the information you sent at the time of application, so be sure to complete your application in full. Criteria for each job is chosen to identify candidates who have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job at the highest level. If you are selected for an interview, the hiring supervisor from the school or department will contact you for an interview.


    Interviews and Hiring Requirements
    For positions other than administrative, interviews are conducted at the job site. If selected for a position (administrative, instructional, non-instructional), you will be contacted by the Department of Recruitment & Retention with a list of required documents for the position.


    Transcripts

    U.S. Degrees:
    Required education and/or degrees must be earned from an institution accredited by an an organization recognized by SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) and CHEA (Council for Higher Education Accreditation) at the time the degree was earned. Please visit www.SACS.org, www.cognia.org, and/or www.CHEA.org to determine if your educational institution is accredited or was accredited at the time the degree was earned.

    Transcripts may be sent electronically by the college/university to transcripts@palmbeachschools.org or uploaded to your applicant profile. View instructions for uploading documents to the applicant profile.

    Please Note: Candidates applying to a teaching position who have not sent their transcripts to the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) must mail or hand-deliver official transcripts in a sealed envelope to the Department of Recruitment and Retention.

    Foreign Degrees
    Applicants with academic training and degrees granted outside the United States MUST submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency and a breakdown of the coursework and semester hour credits. An accredited two or four year college or university in the U.S., or a credential evaluation agency can provide this report. A partial list of approved agencies is found at www.naces.org.


    Testing Requirements

    Physical Demand Test
    The District will require that applicants being hired into specific job classifications pass a Post Offer Physical Demand Test (PDT). Applicants may watch a video (Spanish video) describing the test, prior to applying to any of the job classifications listed. Here is a list of all jobs that require the Physical Demand Test.

    Typing Test
    Certain office positions require that you are able to type a minimum number of correct words per minute (CWPM). Please visit the Job Descriptions website to determine if your position of interest requires a specific typing speed. For questions, please call (561) 434-8430. Directions for the Remote Typing Test will be provided during the hiring process.

    ParaPro Test
    Applicants and employees with a High School diploma may take the test to qualify for the following positions:

    • Assistant Paraprofessional I - Title I
    • Community Language Facilitator

    Applicants and employees with a minimum of 30 semester hours of college earned at an institution accredited by an accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education may take the ParaPro test to satisfy the requirements for the following positions:

    • Assistant Behavioral/Physical Needs II - Title I
    • Assistant Paraprofessional II - Title I

    Registration Information
    Please register for the test on the ETS ParaPro website. Additional information, including preparation materials, can also be found on the website.

    Fee Information
    There are two fees associated with the test. A $30 proctoring fee must be paid online at registration before an appointment can be made. A $55 Test fee will be collected at the testing facility the day of the test, via Debit or Credit Card, only. (No cash is accepted.)
