Q: Will there be any Choice Academies?
A: Yes, Pre-Medical & Information Technology (IT)

Q: If my child is currently in a Choice Academy at Woodlands or Christa McAuliffe (Pre-IT or Pre-Med) will they have to apply to get a seat at West Boynton Middle School?
A: No! They will be provided a seat (if they choose) for the same program at West Boynton Middle School if they remain in good standing with their current choice programming contract. (Information on how to do this will be provided)

Q: Will my child be able to apply for the choice program since it was not an option for the original choice lottery?
A: The district will hold a separate choice lottery for West Boynton MS Pre IT and Pre-Med programs for in-boundary students. (Information regarding this will be forthcoming).

Q: Will I have to re-register my child if we choose to attend West Boynton Middle School?
A: More information will be released from the school district soon, and we will also share it with your child’s current school.

Q: Will West Boynton Middle School have an 8th Grade for the first year?
A: YES!

Q: Will West Boynton Middle School offer Cambridge classes for Year One?
A: Yes! Year one Cambridge International Programming will be offered in English Language Arts for ALL Grade Levels. We will expand to Science, Social Studies, and Health in year two.

Q: Will there be morning care?
A: Yes, morning care will start at 7:30 a.m. Sign-Ups will be available during the first two weeks of school. Morning care will officially begin the 3rd Week of school.

Q: Will there be an aftercare program?
A: Yes, aftercare will be Monday thru Friday and end at 6:00 p.m. Activity buses will be available Monday thru Thursday for parents that cannot pick up their children. Sign-Ups will be open during the first two weeks of school. Aftercare will officially begin the 3rd Week of school.

Q: Are Lanyards & I.D.s required?
A: Yes, SDPBC policy 5.0115 states, "All students are required to have their current School District issued ID badge displayed anytime while on District property."

Q: Is there a dress code requirement?
A: WBMS will follow the SDPBC dress code guidelines. The SAC (Student Advisory Committee) and administration have approved a dress code for WBMS. Please view the "Dress Code" link for more information.

Q: Will there be interscholastic sports the first year?
A: YES! ALL of the same sports will be offered as all other middle schools.

Q: Will the school have lockers?
A: Only for Physical Education and Athletics. WB will have a “one-binder” system where all courses share one 2.5’ binder with tabs. The binder can be cleared each nine weeks, and all notes and assignments can be kept at home.

Q: What are the school hours of operation for students?
A: Drop-off begins at 8:55, classes start at 9:30, and dismissal is at 4:05.
