Choice and In-House Programs
Boca Raton Community Middle has a variety of programs, including our Pre-Medical Sciences Choice Academy, and our Band program. For questions or additional information about our Pre-Medical Choice Academy, please contact Amy Finneran, Career & Choice Coordinator.
The Pre–Medical Sciences program is a three–year honors program for middle school students that emphasizes science, math, and language skills while preparing students for high school medical programs. The courses offered at Boca Middle include Orientation to Health Occupations, Exploration of Health Science Professions & Career Planning, and Medical Skills and Services. In the School District of Palm Beach County, all medical courses provide local honors credit.
The Pre–Information Technology Program offers an innovative, integrated learning environment focused on computers, technology and communications. Students who participate in Pre–Information Technology acquire foundational knowledge and skills in basic programming techniques, software and web development, and emerging digital technologies. Emphasis is placed on a college preparatory curriculum directly linked to career pathways in the IT career cluster.
Boca Middle has a full band program with something for every student interested in playing an instrument. It is an elective class that meets during the school day. No prior experience or knowledge is necessary, as we have a beginning band in addition to a concert band, and a symphonic band. Boca Middle also offers a jazz band for more advanced players. Students are welcome to participate in Solo & Ensemble each year, and the Symphonic Band participates in MBA each year, too.
