    The Computer Science program is designed to meet the needs of highly motivate students who wish to major in one of the various fields within Computer Science industry. The program strives to provide college-bound students with rigorous learning opportunities in an environment rich in quality of instruction, hand-on experiences, and course offerings. Students acquire a well-rounded foundation in the basic aspects of computing to include but not be limited to programming, database programming, and algorithmic design, as well as mathematics and science.

    Innovative Interactive Technology

    The Innovative Interactive Technology program is designed for the student who wishes to pursue a technological pathway.  Students may elect one of three highly sought after technology-based pathways:  Drafting and Design, Commercial Digital Photography, or Game, Simulation, and Animation Programming, in which students may earn industry certifications in Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, Toon Boom Harmony for animation and Microsoft’s software development in C#.  Students in Drafting and Design Technology may earn Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, AutoDesk-Inventor, Revit Architecture, and MasterCam X9 industry certifications.  Students in Commercial Digital Photography can earn Adobe Photoshop industry certification.  This coursework offers real world application along with the opportunity to earn college credit through Advanced Placement classes. IIT students will be given the opportunity to add the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme to their program beginning their junior year.  There are no eligibility criteria for students entering the IIT program in the 9th grade.

    The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging and balanced program of education that prepares students in grades 11–12 for effective participation in a rapidly globalizing world and for postsecondary success in college and career. Students study at least two languages and increase understanding of diverse cultures. Due to its rigorous nature, preparation for the IB Diploma Programme is offered through the IB Middle Years Programme curricula in the 9th and 10th grades or through other accelerated curricula. The IB diploma leads to advanced standing in universities throughout the world. The IB Diploma Programme framework includes required courses within six subject groups: Studies in language and literature, Language acquisition, Individuals and societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts. Schools tailor course sequences to meet each school’s focus. Algebra I or Algebra I Honors and Spanish or French for high school credit are highly recommended to prepare students for the rigor of the program.

    Mathematics, Science, & Engineering (MSE)

    The MSE program is designed to meet the needs of highly talented students wishing to pursue an accelerated curriculum with emphasis on mathematics, science, and engineering. MSE graduates typically earn between one and two years of college credit.  Advanced Placement(AP) Precalculus,  AP Calculus, AP Physics I, AP Physics II, and AP Physics C are some of the required courses for the MSE program. Dual enrollment courses offered at Suncoast High School are also required. The following are some of the required dual enrollment courses:  Calculus II, Calculus III, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra. Students will conduct scientific research and take introductory courses in mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering. MSE students will be given the opportunity to add the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to their program beginning their junior year.
