Dress Code

  • Dress Code Policy

    • Dress Code checks are conducted every morning in the first period.  

    • All Dress Code violators will be monitored and consequences given for repeat offenders.

    • A parent/ guardian will be contacted regarding the violation and its consequences.

    The Dress Code Policy is as follows:

    • Head coverings of any kind are prohibited while on campus.

    • Student ID’s and lanyards MUST be worn and be visible daily while in attendance at school or any function.

    • Holes or rips in any clothing that show skin above the knee are prohibited.

    • P.E. uniforms are ONLY to be worn in P.E. 

    • Attire with language or images that are crude, vulgar, profane, lewd/obscene, sexually explicit, or sexually suggestive are prohibited.

    • Attire with symbols, mottoes, words or acronyms that promote illegal or violent conduct, such as gang symbols, the unlawful use of weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or drug paraphernalia, or clothing that contains threats are prohibited.

    • Attire associated with discrimination based on age, color, handicap, national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, race, religion, or sex are prohibited. 

    • Clothing that is sexually suggestive or revealing (examples include, but is not limited to, clothing which exposes the midriff, exposes one’s undergarments, have plunging necklines, muscle tops, backless clothing, and are constructed of see-through materials) are prohibited. 

    Tops:

    • Polo style shirts or t-shirts – (aligned to PBCSD Districtwide Dress Code)

    • Official Osceola Creek Middle School clothing/ T-shirts are permissible.

    • Shirts that reveal waistline, midriff or that are see-through are prohibited.

    Bottoms:

    • May be solid/stripe color pants/ jeans or solid/stripe color shorts and skirts that are at least fingertip length.  

    • All pants and shorts must be worn at the waist.  (No sagging below the waist and no revealing of any undergarments, whether it is boxers or shorts)

    • No Holes, tears or frayed pants/shorts that expose skin are allowed above the knee.

    • Tights, yoga pants, jeggings, spandex shorts, pajama pants and leggings are prohibited.

    • No Stockings  (Garter Stocking or Fishnet Stockings) 

    Shoes:

    • Appropriate shoes must be worn at all times. (Sandals, backless shoes, high heels, flip flops, open –toed shoes or slippers are not allowed)

    • No Crocs or slides

    Outerwear:

    • All clothing worn underneath MUST be dress code appropriate.

    • Sweatshirts are permitted - (aligned to PBCSD Districtwide Dress Code)

    • Hoods are not permitted to be worn on campus

    • Jackets are permitted when temperatures are 50 degrees or lower

    Miscellaneous:

    • Body decorations, hairstyles, mouth pieces or other markings which may cause a disruption to the classroom environment are prohibited.

    • No heavy or excessive jewelry, chains, dog collars, unsafe or weapon related accessories. Any jewelry deemed potentially disruptive or dangerous by administration will be prohibited.

    The administration reserves the right to make final decisions on any dress code issues that are not listed above.
