Course Description

S.T.E.M. = Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math

Using the design process, students brainstorm, research, develop ideas, create models, test and evaluate design ideas, and communicate their solution to solve problems. This is a project-based class. =

Course Highlights

Grading will be based upon daily work assignments, including writing using R.A.C.E. strategies/drawing in Engineering notebooks, watching video examples of engineering concepts/careers, and working on individual/group projects. Rubrics are used for assessment of students’ content knowledge. Each grading quarter is focused on a different aspect of STEM. 

6th Grade

1st and 2nd Quarter: Exploring Technology and Career Planning

3rd and 4th Quarter: Intro to Technology and Career Planning

7th Grade

1st and 2nd Quarter: Exploring Engineering Technology and Career Planning

3rd and 4th Quarter: Exploring Aerospace Technology and Career Planning

8th Grade

1st and 2nd Quarter: Green Construction, Architecture, and Career Planning

3rd  and 4th Quarter: Electronics and Career Planning
