• Registration - Fall Term
    The fall term starts on Thursday, August 10. Students can register between 8 AM and 8 PM Monday thru Thursday and until 3 PM on Fridays. School is closed on Fridays during the summer. Keep in mind that registering early has many benefits that include the selection of classes. ESOL and GED Class Schedule.

    Where to Start
    To register, students need to come to the main office with an official government ID. The tuition for ESOL and GED classes is $30.00 plus a $5 student ID card fee which can be paid with a credit card or a debit card. Our career courses have different tuition and equipment fees. Once registration is complete and students are in class, they will have access to all of our online programs in school and at home. For more information, students can call (561) 616-7800.     Open Registration 
    The Chuck Shaw Technical Education Center has open enrollment for ESOL and GED classes, so students can start at different times during the term. Class space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those classes are scheduled year-round, with the exception of a four-week break in the summer. Note that attendance and testing restrictions do apply when registering for classes. New students need to take their initial assessment test on the same day as registration. After testing, they will get their schedules and start dates.

    Career and Technical Education
    CTE classes and programs have specific start and end dates. Each program has hourly requirements that must satisfy state regulations for certifications. Our HHA, EKG, and Phlebotomy programs have different schedules and tuition. To register, students first need to come in and meet with a counselor.   • ESOL Class Time
    Day ESOL classes meet Monday through Friday. Session I is from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Session II is from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. The evening classes meet Monday through Thursday. Session III is from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

    GED / ABE Class Time
    Day GED classes meet Monday through Friday. Session I is from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Session II is from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. The evening classes meet Monday through Thursday. Session III is from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. GED classes switch subjects and rooms within each session depending upon the student's enrollment. There are students who require complete subject instruction, while others only require a certain subject such as math. The student schedule is determined by the CASAS Goals scores upon registration.

    Registration and GED Test Information
    When registering for ESOL or GED classes, we can accept any valid photo ID. These sources of identification include the following: Florida ID, Florida Driver's License, Passport, Permanent Resident Card, Work Authorization Card, Alien Registration Foreign Embassy ID, or a valid Palm Beach County School ID. In order to take the actual GED examination or a GED pretest, the student must provide a government picture ID.

    The new Chuck Shaw Technical Education Center is located at 4260 Westgate Avenue in West Palm Beach, Florida. It is one block south of Okeechobee Boulevard just east of Military Trail. We have morning, afternoon, and evening classes.
