AICE Diploma Requirements

  • Earning an AICE Diploma really pays!

    Students who earn an AICE Diploma and have a minimum of 100 hours of Community Service are eligible for the FL Bright Futures FL Academic Scholars (FAS) award regardless of their SAT or ACT scores. Students who earn an AICE Diploma and have a minimum of 75 hours of Community Service are eligible for the FL Bright Futures FL Medallion Scholars (FMS) award regardless of their SAT or ACT scores.

    William T. Dwyer High School offers students the opportunity to earn an AICE Diploma by offering the following AICE courses from the required Core and subject area Groups. Students earn points toward an AICE Diploma for each AICE course exam they pass: 
    • Group 1 - Math and Science: Marine Science AS, Psychology (1 or 3) AS.
    • Group 2 - Languages: English Language AS, English Language A, Spanish Language AS.
    • Group 3 - Arts and Humanities: History (International) AS, Psychology (1 or 3) AS, Sociology AS, Travel & Tourism AS, English Literature AS, Business AS.
    • Group 4 - Interdisciplinary (optional): General Paper, Thinking Skills.
    • Core: Global Perspectives AS.

    Requirements to earn an AICE Diploma:
    • Minimum of 7 points earned by passing AICE exams.
    • Must pass an exam from each Groups 1, 2, and 3 (Group 4 is optional).
    • Must earn 1 point by passing the Core exam: Global Perspectives.
    • Must earn the AICE Diploma within 25 months of starting AICE (within 3 consecutive school years).
