    Most graduation ceremony speakers bring a piece of paper or two with their speech on it up to the podium. But Emma Forstot, senior class president at Spanish River High School, brought some extra pieces of paper onto the graduation stage: napkins that were packed in her lunches over the years with her mother's handwritten notes, inspirational quotes, and words of wisdom.

    On May 1, outstanding Palm Beach County educators were honored during a ceremony at the Kravis Center for the 39th annual William T. Dwyer Awards for Excellence in Education, a yearly program of the Economic Council of Palm Beach County. Awards are given in seven categories, and this year, all seven winners are from the School District of Palm Beach County, an expected and exciting result, as all of the finalists for 2023 were from the District.
