Age Waiver Process

Students who reside in or attend school in Palm Beach County are eligible to apply for an age waiver in Palm Beach County. They do not need to be registered in an Adult Education class.
The following steps must be completed before the Florida GED® Testing Program Eligibility Exception Form can be filled out.
1. Create an account at GED.com
2. Complete the Age Waiver Package
a. GED® Age Waiver Application (PBSD 0944) completely filled out, signed by and student, and notarized
b. Official withdrawal from the last school attended.
c. Copy of the GED Ready ™ The Official Practice Test scores. Scores for each sub-test must be a minimum of 150.
d. Florida Testing Eligibility Exception Form (with the top half filled out)
e. Documentation corresponding to the reason for testing3. Please email completed documents to Sharon Webb Or call (561) 351-9464 for further assistance.
4. Once documents are approved, individuals can proceed to GED.com to begin scheduling appointments at one of our locations.

GED® 2014 Test
The GED® 2014 Test is a computer-based test with multiple choice, short answer, and essay questions.
It consists of four (4) test sections:
Reasoning Through Language Arts
Mathematical Reasoning
Science
Social Studies
Although the test is computer-based, it is not done through the internet. Students must take the test at an authorized testing center. -
Duration Time
Reasoning Through Language Arts - 155 minutes (including a 10-minute break)
Mathematical Reasoning - 120 minutes
Science - 95 minutes
Social Studies - 75 minutes
Total test time: approx. 7.5 hours
Test-takers can take sections of the GED® test in any order they want to. Candidates can take the test one part at a time, on different days, or all at the same time. We do not recommend that testers take all four parts of the test on the same day. -
Fees
Each test costs $32 and can be taken separately.
The full battery of tests costs $128.
There is a discounted retesting fee for students who do not pass a section of the GED on the first attempt.
Students will be allowed three (3) retests per content area at $12 each.

Accommodations
What are GED® Test Accommodations?
The purpose of accommodations is to provide candidates with full access to the GED® Test. Test accommodations are individualized and considered on a case-by-case basis.
How do I request accommodations?
Create a GED.com account. Answer Yes to the question "Do you need to request accommodated testing conditions for a documented disability?" You will receive a link where you will apply for accommodations and submit your supporting documentation.
