  • SCOPE AND SEQUENCE

    6th Grade
    Foundation Art Major Class
    This is a full year course that focuses on the art Elements and Principles of design. Students will use a wide variety of media materials, and techniques to help them become a more proficient artist.

    Visual Art Wheel
    This course changes at the quarter and allows students the opportunity to work with the other Visual Arts staff and experience different disciplines in art. Currently we are offering an intro to graphic and digital design, intro to animation, intro to painting, intro to sculpture and intro to printmaking.

    7th Grade
    Students will take a semester-long course in 2 dimensional art and a semester of 3 dimensional art. In these courses the student will be introduced to art history and a variety of materials and techniques that are associated with these types of art.

    Along with this course students will participate in two semester long elective courses. One will be Printmaking and the other is Painting.

    8th Grade
    Students will take a semester-long course in 2 dimensional art and a semester of 3 dimensional art. In these courses the student will be introduced to art history and a variety of materials and techniques that are associated with these types of art.

    Along with this course students will participate in two semester long elective courses. One will be Ceramics and the other is Photography.

    In addition to these courses students have a variety of other electives that they are allowed to take, both in and outside of the Visual Arts department.
