  • automotive programThe Seminole Ridge High School Automotive Academy is a four-year program that focuses on understanding and the demonstration of the following elements of the automotive industry; planning, management, finance, and technical skills as well as the underlying principles of technology, community issues and health, safety and environmental issues. There are four areas of required study: suspension and steering, brakes, electrical/electronic systems, and engine performance. Students are prepared in maintenance and light repair and for further education and/or careers in automotive technology. Students will have the opportunity to earn multiple industry certifications. This program is open to Seminole Ridge students who live in the school’s attendance boundaries.

    Course Sequence

    9th Grade: Automotive 1
    The purpose of this course is to serve as an introduction to automotive and engine systems and prepare students with the skills and knowledge needed.
    10th Grade: Automotive 2
    The purpose of this course is to prepare students with the skills and knowledge needed in the operation of the automotive electrical system.
    11th Grade: Automotive 3
    The purpose of this course is to prepare students with the skills and knowledge needed in the operation and repair of brakes, steering, suspension, and wheels/tires.
    12th Grade: Automotive 4

    Curriculum: Maintenance & Light Repair 50% task in workshop & 50% in classroom
    Up to 9 ASE Industry Certs
    NATEF Certified
    ASE Accredited

    • PBCSD US Presidential Scholarship Award Nominee
    • 7th Place UTI Top Tech Challenge - 2 students earned $1000 scholarship each
