Dear L.C. Swain Middle School Students and Families,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Principal of L.C. Swain Middle School. I am honored and humbled to lead a school with amazing students, talented and dedicated staff, and a supportive school community.   

My professional background is rooted in education.  I come to you with 20 years of experience as an educator.  I spent 6 years teaching at the elementary school level and 8 years teaching reading at the high school level, supporting literacy as the Literacy Coach and ESOL Coordinator.  Most recently, I have served as an Assistant Principal at John I. Leonard High School, where most of our students will attend high school.  

Parents are the most important partner in a child’s education, therefore I am delighted to partner with you in your child’s education, ensuring his/her success.  I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions.  I believe that all of us - the school and the community - must work together as a family to ensure our children reach their fullest potential.  I invite you to model and partner with us throughout the school year to instill excellence into our students.   Research shows that students will have the greatest possibility for success when there is a partnership between families and the school. Therefore, I encourage you to be involved in every way possible.
