Purpose of the Program:

The primary purpose of the Tobacco Prevention Program is to impact students with tobacco prevention lessons and messages. The program seeks to build capacity among educators and school nurses to teach tobacco and vaping prevention lessons by providing professional development and continuing education opportunities. We hope our participants will gain the knowledge and skills they need to continue teaching tobacco and vaping prevention in their classrooms and schools each year.

About the Program:

Over the last decade, the Tobacco Prevention Program has provided professional development opportunities to over 3,000 Florida educators and school nurses. The program is sponsored by the Florida Department of Health and the Florida Department of Education, and all courses are approved by both departments.
