  • visual art programThe Visual Arts program provides unique opportunities for the committed and talented student who has a serious interest in the Arts. In–depth study of the Arts develops conceptual and technical skills of artistic expression and brings to fruition the student’s individual interpretations of the world. The Arts training is provided by highly-trained Visual Arts teachers. In addition to participation in community programs, the Spring Art Show displaying creations from the Visual Arts students is a much anticipated annual event of the program.

    Students participate in extensive highly specialized courses in three visual arts tracks: Drawing, Digital Multimedia, and Photography, as well as a full academic program. Students follow one track; however, they are encouraged to complete coursework in other tracks as well. In Drawing and Painting, students are provided instruction in a variety of media, drawing, and painting techniques. Digital Multimedia allows students to learn digital art techniques and how to create graphic artwork using computer software. Photography is more than just taking a picture, as students learn how to operate a digital camera and demonstrate knowledge of a variety of photo elements in their works.

    Eligibility Criteria: 2.0 GPA.

    Industry Certifications Offered: Adobe Certified Associate - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro

    Career Opportunities: Students are prepared to pursue careers in graphic design, photography, and marketing as well as post-secondary majors of choice in almost any field.
