Welcome Message From the President

  • Welcome to the Palm Beach County School District Staff Association’s website! We are glad you are here.

    As the president, I am proud to be leading such a great group of professionals that work in a variety of positions across the District. We are a collegial consortium that is united in our support for students, staff, and District. We look forward to your membership and participation as we move forward into 2024.

    We have been active in the development around our Strategic Plan and continue to meet with District Leadership to further our member's interests. Our delegation will be traveling again to Tallahassee this year to help shape educational policy. Additionally, we are proud to be getting back to networking with our staff and bringing back the Winter Gala.

    Finally, we will continue our scholarship program for high school seniors and have awarded $25,000 over the last 6 years. This is most exciting as we invest in our students through our work in K-12 and beyond. Our students are our future and we are excited to pay it forward!

  • President's Update
    We are pleased to announce that the School Board has approved Superintendent Burke's recommendation of a generous increase and bonus for staff covered under NBU (Non-Bargaining Unit) at the October 4 Special Meeting. The School Board unanimously voted on a 5% increase retro to July 1, 2023, and a one-time (non-recurring) 3.0% bonus or $1,500 (whichever is greater). The bonus is to be paid on the October 13 paycheck, the raise will be effective on the October 27 paycheck and the retro will be paid on the November 10 paycheck. Please see the attached Board agenda item for more details. 
    The Staff Association Board will be volunteering for Wreaths Across America on Saturday, December, 16, 2023 at 12:00 PM.  The board will join other volunteers and supporters who will gather to remember and honor members who served in our armed forces.  Please consider joining us and registering here.
  • Mandatory Youth Mental Health First Aid Training Sessions (Bulletin#PD23-058CEW) -YMHFA classes are offered in-person or virtually during the month of August. Any employee who has not attended the class or is new to the District can take advantage of this opportunity. Employees who attend training on a non-duty day during August will be compensated for 6.5 hours. Please view the YMHFA August Schedule.

    The course can be found in eLM by searching for the keyword "Youth" in the Find Learning Section. If you complete the training outside of regular work hours, then you may be eligible for overtime or to be paid at your hourly rate for 6.5 hours upon completion of the course.
