    Vision: Be the model for Latino youth engagement through personal assets, excellence in education, service, and leadership.

    Values: We are open and welcoming to all who have the desire to further their learning and become leaders in their communities. We create an environment of inclusivity where people from all backgrounds and beliefs come together to help each other learn and grow.

    Latinos In Action (LIA) offers an asset-based approach to bridging the graduation and opportunity gap for Latino students, working from within the educational system to create positive change. 

    • It is a year-long HONORS elective course. 

    • The end goal of everything we do is to empower Latino youth to lead and strengthen their communities through:

      • College and career readiness 

      • Personal and cultural assets 

      • Excellence in Education 

      • Serving the community

      • Leadership Development

        • Leadership Conference

        • Leadership Boot Camp

    What are the Student Eligibility Requirements?

    Students must comply with the following standards to be part of Latinos In Action:

      • Participate in weekly literacy elementary tutoring 

    • All LIA students participate in weekly literacy tutoring for young students.

    • Participate in an LIA classroom committee

    • Be involved in one extracurricular activity by the end of the first semester.

    • Complete the service requirement (as specified by the teacher/class)

    • Behave in accordance with LIA expectations!

    • Take rigorous coursework to prepare for college!

    • Maintain a 2.0+ GPA

    • Have good attendance in all classes!
