    Child Nutrition Program

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) establishes the nutrition standards for all programs that offer meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).  Nutrition standards ensure that children have access to nutrient-dense foods while at school.

Breakfast and lunch, as well as after-school meal programs, such as snacks and supper at participating schools, are offered at NO COST to all students attending Palm Beach County Schools. Students can fuel up with nutritious meals from all food groups - Protein, Whole Grains, Fruit, Vegetables, and Milk.

We have a dedicated and experienced team of registered dietitians, chefs, and school nutrition experts that oversee menu development for our programs.

    Enhanced Menu Promotions

Throughout the school year, we develop various menu promotions to highlight different cultures and holidays, as well as to provide education on food celebration days or weeks, such as National Peach Cobbler Day on April 13th and National School Breakfast Week in March. Culturally diverse menu items include Spanish Rice, Chicken Fajitas, Potstickers with Asian Fried Rice, Collard Greens, and Black Eyed Peas.

Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program (FFVP)

Many of our elementary schools participate in the FFVP,  sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), providing all children in participating schools with a variety of free fresh fruit and vegetable snacks during the school day. The FFVP is an effective and creative way of introducing students to healthy snack options by exposing them to fruits and vegetables they otherwise may not have the opportunity to sample.
