District Mental Health Plan

  • Guided by Legislation and supported by Strong Schools...Strong Communities referendum, the District’s Mental Health Plan supports students.

    The plan’s main components are:

    • Align and expand school-based mental health services. By focusing the work of School Counselors, School Psychologists, School Behavioral Health Professionals and Contracted (Co-located) Mental Health professionals students and families are able to access support during the school day.
    • Connect students to the most appropriate mental or behavioral health service. Schools have highly qualified staff in place. The District has agreements with community agency partners. Schools and families, working together, are increasing student access to the mental health support they need.
    • Train teachers and staff on how to notice and respond to student who may be experiencing a mental health concern.

Mental health is our ability to live fully, engage with others, and respond to challenges.

It’s OK to be OK. It’s OK to not be OK. It’s OK to ask for help.

Schools have highly trained and skilled professionals in place to support student mental health.
