Co-located Mental Health Professionals
-
School-based mental health care through the placement of agency employed, Co-located Mental Health Professionals in schools expands student access to mental health services. In place at 100 schools, Co-located Mental Health Professionals provide 12 individual counseling sessions to students.
There is no cost to families and a diagnosis is not required.
Co-located Mental Health Professionals supplement the work of District mental health professionals (e.g., School Counselors, School Psychologists, School Behavioral Health Professionals) and community-based agencies. They are agency supervised and operate in collaboration with school teams, policies, and procedures.
When children and students struggle with a social or emotional challenge their academics and behavior can suffer. Having a mental health professional co-located on the school campus can help them to improve their social (how they relate to others), emotional (how they feel) and behavioral (how they act) well-being.
To inquire about co-located mental health services, please contact your child’s School Counselor, School Behavioral Health Professional or School Administrator.
